Archived report. This report was archived in 2008 and has not been updated. Asia’s share of the global broadband subscriber base stood at 37% by end-2007, with 128 million of the 350 million broadband subscribers in the world being in Asia. At the same time, the dominant fixed broadband technology continued to be DSL with 66% of the market. However, in a number of the more advanced markets of Asia (South Korea, Taiwan) DSL as a broadband platform was in decline as the number of FttH services began to expand. This report provides an overview of the broadband market in Asia Pacific.

While Asia’s mobile industry continues to be one of the fastest-growing markets in the world, the region’s penchant for innovation has also seen it push into new applications for the mobile telephony platform. Its venturing into wireless data services has been a case in point. But, most significantly, through the efforts of Japan and South Korea, in particular, and even China, to some extent, the region has been moving boldly into next generation mobile technologies, in both development and in application. When it comes to 3G, Asia has become the region to watch. This report provides an overview of the Asian 3G mobile market, together with information on mobile data services.--(by budde.com.au )

Its really cool to have transparency all over the screen, kinda hifi and sexy. Its just a notepad but we use it very often, right. It fits in Windows Vista and Windows 7 like a charm and there is just a exe file, no need to install it.

Many of them would have heard of it, anywayz, let me come to the point, with the no. of replies in the previous post (ubuntu berly effect). I can understand that many people are really interested in beryl effect, but sad to say beryl has been closed, but as said earlier “if one door is closed, another door will open“.

Recently i have installed  “Ubuntu 8.10 intrepid ibex” and what to say about it, an overall customizable, powerful OS, i will explain about ubuntu 8.10 in a different post. As there are lots of features, there will a separate session on it, for now we will deal with this Compiz fusion.

What is Compiz Fusion ?

Compiz Fusion is the result of a merge between the well-known Beryl composite window manager and Compiz Extras, a community set of improvements to the Compiz composite window manager. Compiz Fusion aims to provide an easy and fun-to-use windowed environment, allowing use of the graphics hardware to render each individual window and the entire screen, to provide some impressive effects, speed and usefulness

Now we have this compiz fusion once and for all  and i will give a brief guidance of installation and usage of this package,

Now where to start,

type this command in terminal mode,

sudo apt-get intall compiz compizconfig-settings-manager ”

After you installing the compizconfig-settings-manager, Go to System->Preferences->CompizConfig Settings Manager,  you will get this..
