What happen to beryl effect?,   you have to know one thing that beryl effect had some bugs which is not recoverable. So beryl project team  have recommended  for this new application which is now far better then beryl effect, that is Compiz Fusion.

(by wconstantine0)

Many of them would have heard of it, anywayz, let me come to the point, with the no. of replies in the previous post (ubuntu berly effect). I can understand that many people are really interested in beryl effect, but sad to say beryl has been closed, but as said earlier “if one door is closed, another door will open“.

Recently i have installed  “Ubuntu 8.10 intrepid ibex” and what to say about it, an overall customizable, powerful OS, i will explain about ubuntu 8.10 in a different post. As there are lots of features, there will a separate session on it, for now we will deal with this Compiz fusion.

What is Compiz Fusion ?

Compiz Fusion is the result of a merge between the well-known Beryl composite window manager and Compiz Extras, a community set of improvements to the Compiz composite window manager. Compiz Fusion aims to provide an easy and fun-to-use windowed environment, allowing use of the graphics hardware to render each individual window and the entire screen, to provide some impressive effects, speed and usefulness

Now we have this compiz fusion once and for all  and i will give a brief guidance of installation and usage of this package,

Now where to start,

type this command in terminal mode,

sudo apt-get intall compiz compizconfig-settings-manager ”

After you installing the compizconfig-settings-manager, Go to System->Preferences->CompizConfig Settings Manager,  you will get this..

You can customize it till you get tired, but still you will Njoy it alot. Compiz Fusion has proved itself  a worthful tool.

As much as possible, plz try to use  Synaptic Package Manager for installing all the software which is really safe, easy and reliable as it installs only the compatible appz.

Synaptic Package Manager:

synapticpackagemanager

Here is the  information about plugin packages. You can also learn about the MainExtra, and Unsupported sets plugins on their respective pages. Got this plugins with the guidance of (wiki.compiz-fusion.org).  Now lets see the plugins,

And lots more, this compiz fusion is totally customizable like ubuntu itself. You can use  Mac like dock effect, gadgets, widgets layer,  benchmark,  Fake ARGB, Snoweffect , mutiple desktops and  alot more. Normally most of the plugins from this list will be there  when we install the compiz fusion,  so not to worry. All the basics stuffs are over, from now onwards its in your hand, how you alter and change your desktop visual effects..

I hope you all will enjoy these features of Compiz Fusion. If any doubt occurs during the process, plz be free to share…

”  Love will be felt, only when you share…
